The fibroblast growth factor receptor (FGFR) signaling pathway is activated in multiple tumor types through gene amplifications, single base substitutions, or gene fusions. Multiple small molecule kinase inhibitors targeting FGFR are currently being evaluated in clinical trials for patients with FGFR chromosomal translocations.
